Edward ‘Butch’ Ward Dies February 4th
Edward “Butch” Ward, 69, of Colfax, died Wednesday, February 4, at his home.
Funeral services were held at 2 p.m. Saturday at the Walters Coburn Funeral Home in Colfax.
The Rev. Robert Jones, pastor of the Colfax Christian Church conducted the services. Burial was in the Colfax Cemetery.
Memorials contributions to a fund set up in Mr. Ward’s name may be left at the Walters-Coburn Funeral Home.
Survivors are his wife, Mildred; a son, Jack of Colfax; a grandchild, Erin Ward; three sisters, Mrs. Don (Ella) Beals of Colfax, Mrs. William (Anna) Thompson of Colfax and Mrs. Ethel Pickles of Newton; and a brother, Everett of Colfax.
He was preceded in death by his parents.
Mr. Ward was a retired Maytag Co. assembly department employee.
The son of Mel and Anna Lester Ward, he was born June 15, 1907 at Colfax.
He was married to Mildred Butler Sept. 2, 1927 at Colfax.
Soloist – Miss Mable Kaldenberg.
Organist – Miss Eleanor Howell.
Flowers – Mrs. Selena Burt and Mrs. Dale Ogburn.
Casket Bearers – George Deakins, Dale Ogburn, Harold Osborn, Dick Swanson, Eben Van Dusseldorp and Mack Wade.
Honorary Bearers – Elmer Bell, Abraham Hunter, Harry Linn, William Snetselaar and Fred Wade.
