Mrs. Jack Graham Died Aug. 23
Mrs. Jack (Maude S.) Graham, 88, a resident of this city since 1904, died Sunday, Aug. 23, 1970, in her home at 418 W. Spring St. Mrs. Graham had been in failing health the past few years.
Services for Mrs. Graham were held Tuesday, Aug. 25th at 2 p.m. in Walters Funeral Home at Colfax.
The Rev. W. Leonard Rowse, pastor of the United Methodist Church, Colfax, officiated.
Mrs. Darrold Hunter was the soloist and Mrs. Frank B. Evans was the organist.
The bearers were: Ronald Carroll, Robert Davidson, Danny Doty, Robert Johnson, Frank Stremfel and George T. Weirick.
Serving on the flower committee were Mrs. Frank Davidson, Mrs. Robert Davidson and Mrs. Walter Nichols.
Burial was in the Colfax Cemetery.
The daughter of William and Ella Smith, she was born Aug. 16, 1882 at Des Moines.
She was married to Clarence Lawrence (Jack) Graham, May 6, 1902 at Colfax.
Mrs. Graham was a member of the Colfax Methodist Church for more than 50 years and was a charter member of the Women’s Society of Christian Service of the church. She was the oldest living member of the Colfax Rebekah Lodge, having been a member for 70 years.
Surviving are a son, Lawrence W. (Jack) Graham of Colfax; a daughter, Mrs. Lloyd (Marjorie) Butler of Newton; a granddaughter; three great-grandchildren; and a sister, Mrs. Hazel Price of Colfax.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Sept. 28, 1967, parents and a brother.
