Brother Of Colfax Resident Died Monday
Funeral services for Joseph Leo Good, 61, of Rt. 2, Newton, a lifelong resident of Jasper County, were held at 3:30 p.m. Wednesday in Toland Funeral Home at Newton.
Elder Ezra Cooper of the Reorganized Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints conducted the services. Burial was in Colfax Cemetery.
Survivors are his wife, Miriam a son, Charles J. of Rt. 2, Newton’ a grandson, Tracy Good and two sisters, Mrs. Jesse (Lily) Beard of Colfax and Mrs. Richard (Anna) Hurd of Sedalia, Mo.
He was preceded in death by his parents; two brothers, James and Charles, and a sister, Mary.
Mr. Good was a member of the Methodist Church and Maytag 35 Year Club. He has been an employee of the Maytag Company for 39 years in the machine shop.
The son of Charles L. and Margaret Leonard Good, he was born Oct. 28, 1906, near Colfax.
He was married to Miriam Ferguson Jan. 30, 1930, in Newton.
Mr. Good died Monday morning in Skiff Memorial Hospital of cancer, following a lengthy illness.
