Pioneer Resident of Brooklyn Dead
Thomas Mulligan died at the home of his daughter, Mrs. W. E. Wierman, in Colfax, Thursday, October 21, aged seventy-eight years, a victim of cancer of the rectum. He was born in Ireland and came to Brooklyn in an early day. There he resided until about six years ago when, with his wife, he moved to Colfax to make his home with his daughter, Mary; where with tender care he was looked after during his last years. His wife died four years ago.
He was a kind and a loving father and will be sadly missed from the home. Everything was done that loving hands could do for him. He was conscious to the last, knew everyone and was well prepared for the great change. Bishop Davis, of Davenport, Father Flavin of Des Moines, and also Father Tracy visited him in his last illness.
