Francis Hill, 54, Died Saturday
Francis Bernard Hill, 54, died Saturday, May 18th, at his home in Colfax. He had been confined to bed for the past 6 ½ months with a malignancy.
The son of Alexander and Katherine Hill, he was born April 11, 1909 at Mingo. He received his education in the schools of the Mingo and Oswalt area. On July 3, 1936, he was married to Opal Dawson at Lancaster, Mo.
Mr. Hill was a member of the Immaculate Conception church of Colfax. Until his health failed he was employed at construction work.
Surviving are his wife, Opal; a son, William of Colfax; a granddaughter; 4 brothers, Raymond of Baxter, Geo., James and Paul and a half brother, Robert Davidson, all of Colfax; one sister, Mrs. Mary Daily of Austin, Minn.
Funeral services were held Tuesday morning at 9 a.m. at the Immaculate Conception Catholic church. Rev. Karl Holtkamp officiated at the service.
Mass was sung by the Salvatorian Novitiate Choir.
Bearers: Paul Daily, Ed Flaherty, John Horton, Harold Maxwell, Harry Olson and John Sumpter.
Burial was in the Colfax Cemetery.
