Newton Car Accident Fatal To Mother & Baby
Mrs. Neva Gorman, 18, and her three months old daughter, Dianne of Newton, were killed in a truck-auto collision which occurred at the west edge of Newton near the Sales barn. Her husband, Walter Gorman, who was driving the car, suffered face lacerations and a slight brain concussion.
Mr. Gorman, a Newton factory worker, apparently didn’t see the semi-trailer truck, driven by Ronald H. Perkins of Des Moines, which had started to turn into the hog buying station. The contact drove the rear wheels of the trailer under its body.
Walter Gorman, driver of the ill-fated car, is a brother of Floyd Gorman of Colfax.
