J. R. Witmer’s Funeral
J. R. Witmer died at his home in Greencastle Saturday morning at eleven o’clock at the age of seventy-seven years. He had been sick two weeks with the grippe and pleurisy. His daughter, Miss Christina Witmer, of Des Moines, was with him at the time of his death.
Mr. Witmer is survived by seven children, Mrs. George Sapp of Sunnyside, Washington; Mrs. Mary Sumpter of Ogden; Mrs. Milo Caple of Chehalis, Washington; Miss Christina Witmer of Des Moines; Mrs. P. R. Pink of Newton; L. A. Witmer of Kennewick, Wash., and Jake Witmer of Colorado.
The funeral was held from the home in Greencastle.
Mr. Witmer was an uncle of Mrs. H. H. Phillips of this city.
