The remains of Mrs. Mary Ferris was brought to Colfax from Oralabor for burial Sunday. Her son, Noble S. Ferris of the battleship “Seattle” which was at New York ready to sail for France, was home for the funeral but left here the same evening to take his place in the ranks of war. His voyage over and his days on the field will be only sadder because of the death of his best friend, his mother. Mrs. Ferris was a step-sister of John Young of Colfax.
