Local Resident Dies Suddenly
Mrs. William Neasham Dies Yesterday After Brief Illness
Mrs. William Neasham died at her home two miles south west of Newton last evening at 10:30 o’clock following a brief illness with erysipelas. She was 53 years of age.
Funeral services will be held Sunday afternoon at two o’clock at the Murdoch Funeral home with Rev. Willard Wylie, pastor of the United Presbyterian church officiating. Burial will be in the Palo Alto cemetery.
Mrs. Neasham was the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Robert S. Snook, both of whom preceded her in death. Practically her entire life has been spent in or near Newton and she is well known to local residents.
She is survived by her husband, William, two sons, Robert and Frank, one daughter, Irene, all of Newton, two sisters, Mrs. Hannah Pearson of Mitchellville, and Mrs. Eliza Lister of Boulder, Colo., and by six brothers, James C. Snook, Charles Snook, Frank Snook, Robert Snook, Fred Snook and William Snook, all of Newton.

Funeral services for Mrs. William Neasham were held Sunday afternoon at 2 o’clock at the Murdoch Funeral home with Rev. Willard Wylie of the United Presbyterian church officiating. Burial was in the Palo Alto cemetery.
Music was furnished by Fred Hough who sang two selections, “Jesus Lover of My Soul,” and “Peace I Leave With Thee.” He was accompanied by Mrs. Fred Reeves.
Pallbearers were Donald Whittaker, James Summers, Floyd Clark, Earl Snook, Leslie Snook and Ernest Clark.
Flowers were in charge of Mrs. Grant Atwood and Mrs. Steve Guessford.
Out of town attendants at the services were Mrs. James Coals of Cedar Rapids, Mr. and Mrs. William Pearson of Mitchellville, Mr. and Mrs. Asa Lee of Mitchellville, Mr. and Mrs. Garfield Lee of Mitchellville, Mr. and Mrs. Charles Walters of Altoona, Mrs. Harry Clark and two sons, Floyd and Ernest of Mitchellville, Mrs. Rose Demory of Des Moines, Miss Carrie Lister of Des Moines, Mrs. Sarah Brown of Des Moines, Jennie Whittaker of Ames and Mr. and Mrs. John Snook of Pleasantville.
