Thomas A. Warrick Died February 23
Thomas Alfred Warrick, 81, longtime resident of the Colfax – Valeria area, died Sunday, Feb. 23, 1969, at the Iowa Lutheran Hospital in Des Moines. He had been in the hospital since Dec. 18, 1968.
The son of Alfred W. and Hannah Eccels Warrick, he was born at Angus, Iowa, May 31, 1887.
He was married to Agnes Myrtle Runyan on Nov. 5, 1913 at Newton. Mrs. Warrick preceded him in death May 9, 1961.
Mr. Warrick was a farmer and also had worked in the coal mines.
He moved from Des Moines to the Colfax – Valeria area in 1905 and had resided here since that time, except the past 4 ½ years spent at Marshalltown, where he made his home with his daughter.
Mr. Warrick was a member of the Colfax Baptist Church.
Survivors are five sons: Roy and Frank D. of Colfax, Earl of Boone, Harry of Albuquerque, N.M. and T/Sgt. Arthur of Mountain Home, Idaho, now stationed at Travis Air Force Base, Calif; and a daughter, Mrs. Gail (Agnes) Relph of Marshalltown; 17 grandchildren and 18 great-grandchildren.
Funeral services were held Wednesday, Feb. 26 at 2 p.m. in the Colfax Baptist Church. The Rev. Charles Wilder conducted the services.
Bob Burns was the soloist and Mrs. Hugh Elrod was the organist.
The pallbearers were Leo Beard, Bernard Relph, Walter Wing Jr., Loren Wing, Park Pierce and Melvin Pierce.
Mrs. Harry Lewis and Mrs. Walter Wing Jr. were in charge of the flowers.
Burial was in the McKeever Cemetery.
