James A. Bell, Colfax, Dies At Iowa City
(Special to the Daily News) COLFAX-James Anthony Bell, 74, died at 2:45 p. m. at the University hospital in Iowa City, Monday, where he had been a patient for the last month.
Mr. Bell, the son of Anthony and Cerrinday Page Bell, was born May 5, 1872, at Buffalo, Scott County, Ia. He was one of 10 children and spent his early life in Angus, Ia. He had resided in and around Colfax for many years, where he was employed as a miner.
Mr. Bell, who never married, was preceded in death by his parents, three sisters and four brothers. Survivors are a brother, W. H. Bell of Grand Junction, Ia., a sister, Mrs. Mary Orman of Ogden, Ia., several nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be held from the Immaculate Conception Church in Colfax, Thursday, at 9:30 a. m., with Father Dennis Cahalan in charge. Interment will be made in Colfax cemetery.
A nephew, Anthony Bell, and wife are expected to arrive Wednesday evening from Glen Ellyn, Ill., to attend the services. ~ The Daily News, Newton, IA, May 1946
