Pastor Vilroye Ann Meyer
May 14, 1931 - June 20, 2018

Pastor Vilroye Ann Meyer, 87, most recently of Colfax, went home to be with her Lord and Savior on the evening of Thursday, June 7, 2018.

Vilroye, Annie to her friends, was born to Fred and Flossie Faye (Roberts) Davis along with her twin brother, Rev. Keith Davis, May 14, 1931. She graduated from Oral Roberts University, where she studied to become an ordained minister. In addition, she retired from Skiff Medical Center in Newton in 1994.

Vilroye enjoyed taking care of others, spending time with her family, her grandchildren, her great grandson and her many, many friends. She also loved baseball and was an avid Detroit Tigers fan.

Vilroye is survived by her two daughters, Rebecca Meyer of Beaverton, Mich., and Carol (Phillip) Breckenridge of Colfax; grandchildren, Kristopher and Tiffany; great-grandchild, Ray; and sisters-in-law, Elnova Davis of Grinnell, and Darlene Davis of Gladwin, Mich.

She will be welcomed into heaven by her parents, Fred and Faye; brothers, Guy Hillman, Jack Davis, Rev. Ray Davis and Rev. Keith Davis; and sister, Avril Jean Humke.

A celebration of Vilroye’s life will be from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. June 23 at Grace Church, 1620 N. 11th Ave. E. in Newton. A luncheon will follow. Memorial donations may be made in her honor to the UnityPoint Taylor House, 3401 E. Douglas Ave., Des Moines, IA 50317 or Paws ‘n A Blanket, 8687 N. 19th Ave. W., Colfax, IA 50054. ~ The Newton (IA) Daily News
