LAMB

J. T. Lamb, living in the edge of the timber on the road leading north to Colfax, committed suicide, by hanging himself, one week ago yesterday. It will be remembered that he became insane about one year ago and was taken to the Mt. Pleasant Asylum, where he stayed about two months, since when he has been at home. His quiet and cheerful conduct in a measure allayed suspicion. He hung himself in the barn with a clothes line, his knees almost touching the floor. He was still warm when found by his wife, who went in search of him. Mr. lamb was one of our most highly respected citizens before he became insane, having held various public trusts of a local character. In his own darkened mind he solved the problem of his own destruction and went before his Maker, who will deal gently with such as he. Deceased was about 60 years of age.
