Wilfred Renaud, 87, of Gresham, OR, and formerly of Sully, died May 3, 2017. A memorial service will be held Friday, May 12, at 3 p.m. at Gresham Memorial Chapel, 257 Southeast Roberts Avenue, Gresham, OR 97080. Private family interment with military honors was held at Willamette National Cemetery, Portland, OR. Contributions in Wilfred’s name may be made to Legacy Hospice or Bible Truths Publisher.
Wilfred Maurice Renaud, the son of Walter L. and Sarah M. (Brand) Renaud, was born Feb. 25, 1930, on a farm south of Sully. He was the youngest of four children.
Wilfred attended grade school at Iron Clad Country School and graduated from Sully High School in 1949. He then farmed with his father until he was drafted into the Army in 1951. He served two years in the Korean Conflict, of which 18 months was served in Korea on Kojo Island.
Dec. 2, 1953, Wilfred was united in marriage to Mildred Louise Huff, daughter of Max E. and Jeanette (Wanders) Huff at the Presbyterian Church in New Sharon.
They lived in Pella where Wilfred was employed by Walter Visecher, building contractor. Later, he was employed by Pella Poultry.
In 1955, they began farming south of Sully until the spring of 1984. Wilfred was then employed at the Taintor Cooperative in New Sharon in the grain department until he retired in 1995. They moved in 1988 to Peoria. In July 2014, they moved to Gresham, OR.
Wilfred is survived by Mildred, his wife of 63 years; a daughter, Linda Kay (Ronald) Robert of Portland, OR; a son, Roger Eugene (Kathy) Renaud of Larkspur, CO; two grandchildren, Lori Marie Robert of Gresham, OR, and Jason Leon Robert of Vancouver, WA; three great-grandchildren: Theodore, Luciana, and Olivia; two brothers-in-law, Larry Huff and Dick Huff; and several nieces and nephews.
Wilfred was preceded in death by an infant daughter, Cynthia Kay Renaud; as well as his parents and brothers, De Verne, Myron, and Ivan Renaud.
Wilfred accepted the Lord Jesus Christ at an early age. He was in happy fellowship with those gathered into the Lord’s name at 1812 Washington Street in Pella until he moved to Gresham, OR.
