Delores M. Miller, 87, of Newton died on Wednesday, February 28, 2018, at Mercy Medical Center in Des Moines. A funeral service will be held at 11:00 a.m., Monday, March 5, at the Wallace Family Funeral Home and Crematory. The family will greet friends from 10:00 a.m. until the time of service. Memorials to the Jasper County Animal Rescue League may be left at the funeral home.

Delores, the daughter of Elda and Mary (Kreiger) Gharrett, was born on February 23, 1931 in Newton. She graduated from Newton High School. Delores was united in marriage with Thomas Miller on July 14, 1949 in Newton. Delores worked at the United Telephone Company and then later as a checker at Wal-mart for 31 years. She enjoyed bowling, knitting, and crocheting.

Delores is survived by her daughter, Pam (Leslie) Wade of Newton; grandchildren, Shawn (Vicki) Wade and Tina Wade; great-grandchildren, Cheri (Adam) Foreman, Beth Ann Forck (Dustin Koder), Thomas James Forck, Logan Wade, and Tucker Wade; and her great-great-grandchildren, Shawna Foreman, Caleb Koder, and Carson Koder.

She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Thomas; a son, Ronald, in infancy; and a sister, Barbara, in infancy. ~ The Wallace Family Funeral Home, Newton, Iowa 28 Feb 2018.
