William Herbert Fenton, age 71 of Runnells, passed away on Wednesday, February 28, 2018, at his home surrounded by his family. Memorial services will be held on Saturday, March 3, 2018 at 11:00 a.m. at Coburn Funeral Home in Prairie City. The family will greet friends on Saturday beginning at 10:00 a.m. at the funeral home. Burial will take place at Pleasant Hill Cemetery. A general memorial has been established and donations will go to Unity Point Hospice or to his youngest daughter's college expenses. The son of William Francis and Ella Geraldine (Gerling) Fenton, Bill was born on February 21, 1947 in Knoxville, Iowa. He served in the United States Marines during Vietnam. He retired from Polk County after 26 years of employment. Bill's greatest love was his family, especially his grandchildren. He enjoyed hunting and being in the outdoors, traveling in his camper and tinkering on projects with his grandchildren.

Those left to honor his memory include his children, Charles (Pie) Fenton, Monique (J.R.) Reese, Paul (Heather) Fenton, Brandon (Angel) Bingham and Briar Fenton; 13 grandchildren, Rachel (Tim) Palmer, Cole Reese, Taylor Fenton, Jesse McAtee, Dylan McAtee, Jakeb Fenton, Gabbi Reese, Kayleigh Fenton, Landon Fenton, Gavin Fenton, Keegan Fenton Gracen Bingham and Bailey Bingham; three great grandchildren, Kane, Korbin and Vivian. Also surviving are two sisters, Sharon Kay (Doug) Knapp and Michelle (Cory) Schriever and two brothers, Bob Fenton and Jerry Ray Fenton.
