Funeral services for Mrs. Allen (Alta) Moore, 88, of Midtown Apartments will be held at 2 p. m. Thursday at the Reece Chapel. Dr. Richard Bentzinger, pastor of the First United Methodist Church, will conduct services. Burial will be in the Sugar Grove Cemetery.

She died Monday evening at the Skiff Memorial Hospital. Memorial contributions to the First United Methodist Church will be accepted. Memorials may be left at the church or at the funeral home. Friends may call at the Reece Funeral Home.

Survivors are a step-son, Francis Moore of Newton; two step-daughters, Mozelle Stech of Hampton and Darlene Martinez of San Francisco, Calif; nine step-grandchildren; 10 step-great grandchildren; and two brothers, Charles Coker of Sun Valley, Calif., and Floyd Coker of Long Beach, Calif.

She was preceded in death by her parents; two husbands, Percy Helphrey in 1942 and Allen Moore in 1977; and a sister.

She was a member of the First United Methodist Church, Palo Alto Grange and World War I Barracks Auxiliary.

She had taught school prior to her first marriage and had been a matron at the Girls Training School in Mitchellville.

The daughter of Clayborn and Phoebe Mather Coker, she was born Oct. 15, 1892 in Carroll, was educated in Jasper County schools, was a graduate of Newton Community High School and had attended the University of Northern Iowa at Cedar Falls.

She was married to Percy Helphrey in 1913 and to Allen Moore in 1953
