Services Friday For Mrs. L. L. Edwards
Mrs. L. L. (Allie) Edwards, a longtime resident of the Monroe community, died Saturday at Portland, Ore., after suffering a heart attack.
Mrs. Edwards had visited in the home of her son-in-law and daughter, Mr. and Mrs. Marvin Neely, for the past month.
Short funeral services were held in Portland, Ore., Tuesday morning.
Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Friday at the Monroe Baptist church. The Rev. Donald Brong will conduct the services. Burial will be in Monroe cemetery.
Mrs. Edwards is survived by three daughters, Mrs. Emma Reinke and Mrs. Marvin (Hilda) Neely of Portland, Ore., and Mrs. Clyde (Evelyn) Wilson of Monroe; four sons, Earl, Harold, Wayne and Lawrence, all of the Portland area; two brothers, Arthur Botsford and Alfred Botsford, both of Monroe; three sisters, Mrs. Tom (Martha) Viers, Mrs. Alfred (Cora) Currier and Mrs. Carl (Pearl) Wilson, all of Monroe; and several grandchildren, nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, two brothers and a sister.
Mrs. Edwards was an active member of the Monroe Baptist church. She was also a member of the Bible class of the church, the Rebekah lodge, Past Noble Grands and the WRC.
The daughter of Warren and Louisa Botsford, she was born at Valeria.
She was married to L. L. Edwards in March, 1900. Mr. Edwards, a retired farmer, died September 15, 1959.
Mrs. Edwards, who spent most of her life in Monroe, also resided in Portland, Ore., and in Minnesota.
