Funeral services for Elva Ball, 81, of Rt. 5, Newton, a lifelong resident of Jasper County, will be held at 1:30 p.m. Monday, April 18, at the First United Methodist Church.
The Rev. Jerry Brown, senior pastor of the church, will conduct services. Burial will be in Newton Memorial Park Cemetery.
Friends may call at Wallace-Pence Funeral Home after 1 p.m. Saturday and visitation with family will be held from 2 to 4 p.m. Sunday at the funeral home.
Memorials in her name will be accepted.
She died Thursday morning at the Newton Health Care Center of complications of Alzheimer's Disease.
Survivors are her husband, John A.; a son and daughter-in-law, Robert and Carolyn of Sully; a daughter and son-in law, Jean and Ray Teasdale of Ogden; six grandchildren; five step-grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; and 10 step-great-grandchildren.
Also surviving are two sisters, Oleta Runyan of Monroe and Zelma Williams of Newton; and several nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents and a brother, Lyle Emmack.
Mrs. Ball, a homemaker, wa a member of the First United Methodist Church.
The daughter of Guy and Myra Brock Emmack, she wa born Feb. 16, 1913 in the Metz area and was a 1931 graduate of Newton Community High School.
She was married to John A. Ball March 21, 1936 in Newton. ~ The Newton Daily News, April 15, 1994
