Dies At Home of Daughter
Mrs. Ellen Baker Passes Away Last Evening
in Boulder, ColoradoMrs. Ellen Baker, of Boulder, Colorado, died last evening at the home of her daughter, Mrs. Dora Baker Wilson with whom she has made her home during the past 17 years.
Mrs. Baker is a pioneer of Jasper county, having made Newton her home for more than a half a century before going west. When Mrs. Wilson's husband was killed in an explosion she left Newton and since then made her home in Colorado.
Elva Baker, the only son of the deceased, left last evening when word came that his mother, who has been suffering from nervous trouble, was in a critical condition, and it is probable that he will not know of his mother's death until he arrives in Boulder.
Mrs. Ellen Peacock Baker was 79 years old. She was married to Charles Baker. To this union two children were born, Dora and Elva. Mr. Baker, died when the children were small. The deceased was a sister-in-law of William Baker of this city.
