Hold Services For Don Shaw
Funeral Services Are Conducted For Former Resident of Monroe.
Monroe, Dec. 28 - Special – Funeral services for Don B. Shaw of Des Moines were held at the Dunn’s Funeral Home of Des Moines yesterday morning at 10:00 o’clock and at the Methodist church here at 2:00 o’clock in the afternoon in charge of Rev. Buchanan, pastor of the local church.
Mr. Shaw died suddenly Christmas eve from an attack of heart disease at his home in Des Moines. He was buried in the cemetery at Monroe.
Mr. Shaw was the son of O. B. Shaw, prominent businessman of Monroe, having spent the greater part of his early life here. He was graduated from the Monroe high school, and from the law department of Drake University.
At the time of his death he was a prominent attorney in Des Moines, holding the position as treasurer of the Iowa Bar Association.
Those of Mr. Shaw’s immediate family who were here for the funeral in addition to O. B. Shaw, were Mr. and Mrs. Fred Shaw, and Mr. and Mrs. Art Cully of Des Moines and Mr. and Mrs. Charles Schenk and Harry Deming of Red Oak.
