MONROE – Mrs. Lafay (Margaret) McComas, 83, a longtime resident of Monroe, died Monday, Jan. 28, at the Embassy Manor in Newton.
Funeral services will be held at 1:30 p.m. Wednesday, Jan. 30 at the Walters-Coburn Funeral Home in Monroe.
The Rev. Harold Den Hartog, pastor of the Metz Church, will conduct services. Burial will be in the Silent City Cemetery in Monroe.
Visitation with the family will be held from 7 to 8 p.m. today, Jan. 29, at the funeral home.
Survivors are a son, Dale of Monroe; three sisters, Macy Wright of Knoxville, Ethel Carter of Des Moines and Olive Robison of Newton; three grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; and two brothers. Howard McDaniel of Monroe and Sam McDaniel of San Jose, Calif.
She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, two sisters and five brothers.
The daughter of U. F. and Sarah Kingery McDaniel, she was born July 10, 1901 in Monroe.
She was married to (sic-left blank) July 8, 1921 in Monroe.
