ELZAIDA BAILEY, OF MINGO, DIED MON. IN COLFAX

Funeral Services Will Be Held Thursday Afternoon At Mingo Methodist Church Elzaida Bailey, 65, of Mingo, died at the Colfax Sanitarium Monday September 2nd. She entered the Colfax Sanitarium two weeks ago following an illness of some time.

She was born July 25th, 1880, at Mingo, Iowa, daughter of James E. and Lucy Jane Bailey, and lived her entire life in Jasper County.

She is survived by two brothers, George Bailey of Colfax and Jessie Bailey of Mitchellville; five sisters, Lucy Chaffin, Minneapolis, Minn., Mrs. Grant Smay, Osceola, Mrs. Garrett Akins, Mingo; John Rambo, Polk City and Laura Bailey, Colfax.

Funeral services will be held the Mingo Methodist Church Thursday, Sept. 5th, at 2:00 p. m., the Rev. I. G. Wilkins officiating. Burial will be at the Sams Cemetery.

Obituary-- Elzaida Bailey
Elzaida Valeria Bailey was born on a farm near Mingo, July 25, 1880. She passed away at the Colfax Sanitarium September 2, 1946. She lived with her parents on the farm until January 1938 when she moved to her home in Mingo.

She united with the Evangelical church in girlhood. Later she transferred her membership to the Mingo Methodist church.

She is survived by seven brothers and sisters: George Bailey, Colfax, Iowa; Mrs. Lucy Chaffin, Minneapolis; Mrs. Grant Smay, Osceola, Mo.; Jesse Bailey, Mitchellville, Iowa; Mrs. Garrett Akins, Mingo, Iowa; Mrs. John Rambo, Polk City, Iowa; Laura Bailey, Colfax, Iowa.

She was preceded in death by her parents, James E. and Lucy Jane Bailey and by four brothers and sisters: Kathrine, William, Sarah and Marion.

All her brothers and sisters who live near were with her during the closing hours.

Funeral services were conducted from the Mingo Methodist church at 2 p. m. September 5, 1946, with Rev. I. G. Wilkins officiating.

Music was furnished by Mrs. Lou, Neal, Mrs. Howard Southern, Eldon Geisler and Otho Hulse with Mrs. L. L. Pickett, pianist.

Pall bearers were: Atbelbert Heberer, Fred Geisler, George Heberer, Jake Baldwin, Lee Boucher and A. C. Deakins.

Flower committee: Mrs. Otho Hulse and Mrs. J. L. Hartley.

Burial was had in the Sams Cemetery.
