Thos. Gibson Answers Call

Had Been Ill With Pneumonia For One Week -- Was Native of England.

Thomas Gibson, 80 years old, died at his home in Metz Saturday evening from pneumonia after an illness of one week. He has, however, been in failing health for the past three or four months, suffering from a complicationof ailments.

Mr. Gibson has lived in the county for the past quarter of a century on a farm in the Metz neighborhood. For the past three years he and his wife have lived on a farm in Metz but prior to that time they lived west of that place.

Mr. Gibson was a native of England, coming to American in 1865. His first wife died in England and he later Married Mrs. Hanna Humphrey.

He leaves besides his widow three children, one daughter, Harriett in England, another daughter, Emma Clements, of Maxwell, and one son, John Gibson, of Metz and one brother, Harry Gibson.

Funeral services will be held tomorrow afternoon at 11 o'clock, in Colfax. Burial will be made in the Oak Hill cemetery there. ~ The Newton (IA) Daily News, December 26, 1922, page 1.
