The death of Henry Atchison of Monroe was one of peculiar sadness. He had been in feeble health and by advice of friends, left for Phoenix, Arizona, on the 10th of January, hoping to be benefited by the change of climate. Reaching his destination he consulted a physician who told him that nothing could be done for him there, and Henry immediately started for home; but death was nearer than he had known, and he expired on the train, January 22nd. He was 35 years of age and was born on his father’s farm near Monroe, which had been his home all his life. The funeral was held at the U. P. Church in Monroe last Friday and the interment was conducted by the K. P. Lodge, of which he was a member. ~ The Newton Record, Newton, IA, February 3, 1898
