SERVICES CONDUCTED AT CEDAR RAPIDS FOR MURPHY ARD, 75

A former Grinnellian, Murphy Ard, 75, died Tuesday, April 9, at his home in Cedar Rapids. Funeral services were held at Cedar Rapids on April 11.

Born Sept. 22, 1887, at Monticello, Ky., he was married to Mary Etta McGinty on December 26, 1911, at Des Moines.

He is survived by his widow, Mary Etta; four sons, Dean and Russell of Cedar Rapids, Gerald of Mesilla Park, N. Mex., and Grover of San Jose, Calif.; one daughter, Betty Jean Weber of Sparks, Nev., and seven grandchildren.

Before his retirement, he was employed by the Quaker Oats Co. at Cedar Rapids.
