Mrs. Anthony Dies Today. Funeral Services to Be Held Friday at 2 P.M. at Murdoch Funderal Home

Mrs. Lewis Anthony, 66, died at 7:15 o'clock this morning following an illness of 2 weeks duration. Funeral services will be held Friday at 2:00 o'clock at the Murdoch Funeral Home with interment in the Palo alto cemetery.

She is survived by her husband, 4 sons, Herschel, Lewis (Tom), Eugene and Francis, all of Newton, and 5 daughters, Mrs. Donovan Emmack, and Mrs. A. J. Coffman both of Newton, Mrs. Clifford Woody of Reasnor, Mrs Carl Danley and Mrs. George Danley both of Des Moines. Also 23 grandchildren and 4 great grand children. She was proceeded in death by 2 sons, George and Ronald, and a daughter, Mrs. John Hithcler.

Mattie Raines, daughter of George and Sarah Raines, was born April 15, 1875 in Croton, Iowa and was married there to Lewis Anthony on October 9,1985. The couple came to Jasper Co, in 1909 and have made their home in Newton and vicinity since that time.

Mrs. Anthony was a member of the 7th Day Adventist church and was an honorary member of the Helping Hand Club at Metz. ~ Newton Daily News June 25, 1941
