The funeral of Mrs. Susan Smith was held from the First Methodist Episcopal Church at 10:30 a.m. today. The services were conducted by Rev. O. S. Baker. Music was furnished by Mesdames Geo. M. Allen, Nora Knepper and Messrs Mark Moorman and Ernest Earley. The member of the funeral party who arrived with the remains last evening besides her daughter, Mrs. W. F. Wade and Otis Wade of this city were J. W. Smith and wife of Fort Dodge, Mr. and Mrs. A. Kerr of Ware, and Jonathan Tulley of Laurens, Iowa.

The pallbearers were Messrs. A. J. Brokaw, George Warren, Aaron Hammer and John Schwart. ~ The Newton Daily News, Thursday, February 22, 1906, Page 1, Column 5
