Mrs. Hansell, who died at the home of her son, George Hansell, last Thursday, was born in Philadelphia, Penn., October 30, 1823, her age being at the time of her death eighty-three years, three months and 1 day. Just ** years ago last month she was married to Richard Hansell. For some years their home was at Harrisburg, Penn., but in 1854 they removed to Pella, Iowa, and later to New Sharon, coming to this city to reside, with their son, George Hansell, nearly seven years ago. Since residing here the mother has been an invalid, and for the past two months critically ill, having at the time suffered a stroke of paralysis.

Mrs. Hansell, when sixteen years of age, joined the Baptist Church at Philadelphia and was a member of that denomination until they removed to New Sharon, where she united with the Friends Church, in that city.

She was the mother of six children. One daughter died in infancy. Five children survive the mother: Mrs. B. S. Wintermute of Hay Springs, Neb., Samuel of Bethany, Mo., John of Cozad, Neb., D. W. of Tobia, Neb., and George of this city. There are thirteen grandchildren and three great grandchildren.

The funeral services were held at the home at 2 o’clock yesterday. The services were conducted by Rev. E. S. Brown. Music was furnished by Mesdames John Cleasby, Charles McClean, Misses Emma Griebeling, Ella Hough and Messrs. Forest Patterson and C. H. McClean and the pallbearers were Harrison Scott, George Woollard, A. Ruchti, Nathan Gould, A. Goddard and Wesley Mathens.

She was laid to rest in the Newton Cemetery where her husband, who died six years ago, lies buried.
