Mr. and Mrs. Edgar Nason arrived last evening from their home in at Colorado Springs, Colorado, with the remains of Mrs. Nancy Cowgill, Mrs. Nason’s mother. Short services were held this afternoon at 2 o’clock out at the cemetery chapel. Mr. Samuel Miller and Albert Miller of Des Moines, a brother and nephew of the deceased, were in attendance at these services. ~ The Newton Daily News, Newton, IA, Wednesday, December 6, 1905, Page 1, Column 5

The brief, but impressive service, held in the chapel at the Cemetery yesterday afternoon, conducted by Rev. J. W. Hackley of the First Methodist Episcopal Church, before all that was mortal of Mrs. Nancy Cowgill was laid to rest, were in harmony with the beautiful unostentatious life of the sweet mother. All who knew her feel deeply the loss that those for whom she lived have to bear.

Since 1869 the Cowgills were residents of this city, until about six years ago this season, when with her daughter, Miss Sadie, Mrs. Cowgill went to Colorado Springs, where they have made their home with a daughter and sister, Mrs. Albert Nason. The father’s death occurred in 1873. Besides the two daughters, she leaves two sons, Albert Cowgill, who with his family resides at Colorado Springs, and Joseph, whose home is in San Francisco.

There were in attendance at the services in this city besides her daughter, Mrs. Nason and her husband of Colorado Springs, Mr. and Mrs. Albert Miller and son Morris, Miss Mary Lytle and Mr. S. K. Miller of Des Moines. Mr. and Mrs. Nason will remain with their cousins, Mrs. J. H. Moyer, who resides near Newton and Mrs. E. E.
