Treva Gowen Passed Away
Miss Treva Gowen passed away at the home of her parents, Mr. and Mrs. J. M. Gowen Saturday, Feb. 14th.
She has been critically ill for some time past and the past few days had been in a state of coma. Her health has not been good since a child when she fell from a swing.
Miss Gowen was born in New Sharon, Aug. 8, 1902, and when a small child moved with her parents to Newton, where she lived until several years ago when the family moved to Colfax. Besides her parents, she is survived by her sisters, Mrs. Muriel Jenson of Colfax, Mrs. Dorothy Hartnett of Colfax and brother Hazel of Des Moines and one sister, Byrdene at home.
Short funeral services were held Sunday from the home, the funeral party then going to Newton where the main service was held at 2:30 by Rev. V. H. Rogers, pastor of the Colfax Christian Church, assisted by Rev. Paul E. Becker. Burial was made at the Newton cemetery.
The pallbearers were her cousins, Joe Macklin, Byrl, Cleo and Roy Holdsworth, Cliff, Clark and Frank Anderson.
