Terry Ray Owens, age 62 of Newton, passed away on Tuesday, October 24, 2017, at Skiff Medical Center in Newton. Funeral services will be held on Friday, October 27, 2017, at 10:00 a.m. at Coburn Funeral Home in Colfax. Burial will take place at Greencastle Cemetery. Visitation will take place on Thursday, October 26, 2017, from 6:00 - 8:00 p.m. at the funeral home. Memorials may be directed to the family and condolences may be left for the family at www.coburnfuneralhomes

The son of Charles and Esther E. (Borts) Owens, Terry was born on May 15, 1955, in Newton, Iowa. He graduated from Colfax High School. Terry worked at Stone Container in Des Moines for several years before it closed. Following that, he worked at Walmart in Newton for the past 17 years. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, watching sports on TV and following the Iowa Hawkeyes. Those left to honor his memory include his brother, Duane Owens of Globe, Arizona; sister, Margaret Edwards of Marshalltown; an aunt, Marie Bos and many nieces, nephews and cousins including a very special cousin, Tink Brant.
