Lena M. Baker Toedt, 82, of 115 W. 9th St. N., a lifelong resident of Newton, died Wednesday evening, April 1, at the Iowa Methodist Medical Center in Des Moines.

Graveside rites will be held at 10 a.m. Friday at the Newton Union Cemetery.

The Rev. Ray Barnett, pastor of the First Christian Church, will conduct services. Burial will be in the Newton Union Cemetery.

Wallace-Pence Funeral Home is handling arrangements.

The casket will not be opened at any time.

Survivors are a son, Dale Toedt of Tulsa, Okla.; two daughters, Margaret Einch of Denver, Iowa, and Pearl Dunning of Sioux City; nine grandchildren; several great-grandchildren; a brother, Everett Baker of Haverhill; and a sister, Ora Brockway of Waterloo.

She was preceded in death by her parents.

The daughter of Bert and Bertha Bair Baker, she was born June 27, 1904 in Newton. ~ The Newton Daily News, Newton Iowa, April 2, 1987.
