Baxter – Sunday afternoon at 2:00 o’clock Feb. 4th at the Colfax Sanitarium, Mrs. Henrietta Krampe was called out of this life to enter into the life beyond. The past months she had been living in the home of her daughter Mrs. Clara Meier at Grinnell, Iowa. She was 83 years old.
Mrs. Krampe was the daughter of Martin Von Hagen and Kathrine Solh-Steinwetz Von Hagen, born Feb. 1, 1862 at Ballhorn Messen, Kassel, Germany.
She received her education in the parochial school in Germany. March 3, 1883 at the age of 20 years she came to York, Pa., lived there one year, then went to Philadelphia, Pa., lived there seven years and came to Jasper county, Iowa. In 1913 she came to Baxter.
July 28, 1891 she was united in marriage to Fred Krampe, by Rev. Edward Scheidt, pastor of Bethany Reformed Church at that time. One daughter was born to this union, Clara, Mrs. Arthur Meier. Her husband, Fred, preceded her in death June 10, 1933.
There remain to mourn her passing, her beloved daughter, Clara, two grandchildren, Luella and Mrs. Kenneth Jones, other relatives and friends.
Mrs. Krampe united with Bethany Reformed Church Dec. 17, 1891 and has been a faithful ember ever since, attending the services of the church whenever possible, until her illness took her to the home of her daughter at Grinnell, where she was lovingly cared for. ~ The Newton Daily News, Newton Iowa, February 1, 1945.
