Judith Ann Epps, 70, passed away Monday, October 20, 2014, surrounded by her loving family.
Visitation will be held from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. Thursday, October 23, 2014, at Hamilton’s Funeral Home, 605 Lyon Street, Des Moines.
Funeral service will be 1:00 p.m. Friday, October 24 at Prince of Peace Lutheran Church, 2600 E. Euclid Avenue, Des Moines.
Private family burial will take place at Lowman Cemetery in Runnells at a later date.
Memorial contributions may be directed to Iowa Public Television in loving memory of Judy. Condolences may be expressed at www.HamiltonsFuneralHome.com.
Judy was born May 15, 1944 in Des Moines, Iowa, the daughter of William and Pearl Greif. She grew up in Norwoodville, then later moved to Runnells. She worked in food service for the Prairie City/Monroe School District for 30 years, ending her career as Food Service Director. Judy’s family was one of the founding families of Prince of Peace Lutheran church, where Judy and Tom were married. She was a moderator on the district board of Prairie City Church of the Brethern and was highly active in her church and the community. She loved hand quilting and collected angel figurines.
Judy is survived by her husband, Tom; children, Barbara (Kevin) Penzato, Patricia (Bob) Waskow, Debra (Tim) Love, and Michael (Melanie) Epps; grandchildren, Jake, Ethan, Tristyn, Keegan, Colten, and Marena; mother, Pearl Greif; and siblings, Bill, Dale, and Sandra Greif.
She was preceded in death by her father, William and an infant child.
