Died-- In Newton, Iowa, June 21, 1893, at the residence of her son-in-law John Brown, Mrs. Kate Helphrey, aged 88 years

Deceased has resided in Newton 41 years, and always within a short distance of the central part of the city.

She was born in Hagerstown, Md., in 1806. She is the mother of Mrs. J.W. Wilson, Mrs. Riley Ashley, Mrs. John Brown, of this county, Mrs. C.R. Rowles, of Colfax, and Mrs. E.S. Moore of Oakland, Cal. Her funeral took place last Friday and her body was laid to rest in the Newton Cemetery, Rev. Brooks officiating.
