Longtime Monroe Man Dies Today
Monroe – James Lester Cessford, 77, of Monroe, died of a heart attack at his home today.
Mr. Cessford, son of James and Ella Cessford, was born at Tipton in September of 1886. He was married in 1937 to Katie Barr and in 1961 he was married to Mable Clausen.
He was a retired laborer; Mr. Cessford had lived near Monroe since 1924. He is survived by his wife; two sisters, Mrs. Margaret Small of West Branch and Mrs. Clarence (Nellie) Crock of Mechanicsville; and one brother, John of Ames.
Services will be held Saturday at 1:30 at the Crumpacker Funeral Home in Monroe with Rev. James Poulsen officiating. Burial will be in the Monroe Cemetery.
