Cheryl Jean Lewis, 45, of Grinnell passed away July 5, 2013, at Mercy Medical Center in Des Moines.
In place of a funeral there will be a memorial gathering at Monroe City Hall Wednesday, July 10 at 5:00. The family will be there to greet any and all friends that want to celebrate Cheryl’s life. There will be a light meal served.
Memorials in her name can be left at any Great Western Bank.
Cheryl was born September 30, 1967, in Unionville, Missouri, to Harold Sr. and Charlotte Elam. She was united in marriage to Michael S. Lewis on August 15, 1987.
Cheryl was a wife, mother, homemaker, and raised two boys, Curtis and Tyler. She enjoyed square dancing, strolls to the park to feed the geese, listening to music, watching movies and most of all, her family. Many people also knew the couple as Bear and Junkman throughout their marriage.
Survivors are her husband, Mike; sons, Curtis and Tyler; her father, Harold; and four sisters, Carolyn Elam, Norma Elam, Mary Elam, and Joanna Breckenridge; and one brother, Harold Jr.
She was preceded in death by her mother (Charlotte), an infant son (Brad Lee Jean Lewis), two sisters, Debra Sweetman and Tonya Elam.
