Life Story of Nellie Mae Tool
Nellie Mae Quick, daughter of Hugh T. and Esta M. Coons Quick, was born June 29, 1890 at Marysville, Iowa. She entered into rest July 10, 1976 at the Embassy Manor in Newton, Iowa at the age of 86 years. On November 25, 1908, she was united in marriage to Charles (Carl) Mullins. To this marriage three children were born: Doris, Wilma and Marilyn. Mr. Mullins passed away in 1943. On July 29, 1945, she was united in marriage to J. Erle Tool who entered into rest December 30, 1968.
Mrs Tool is survived by two daughters, Mrs. Duane (Wilma) Sellers of Monroe and Marilyn Mullins of Newton; two grandsons, William Sellers of Russellville, Arkansas and Nicholas Sellers of Monroe; one great granddaughter, Marcella Lynn Sellers; two step-daughter, Mrs. Merlin (Mary) Morris and Mrs. Margaret Dawson, both of Newton and several step-grandchildren, nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by both husbands, one daughter, Doris M. Mullins, her parents, three brothers, three sisters and two step-sons, Max and Kelly Tool. Mrs. Tool spent most of her life in the Monroe area and was a member of the Monroe United Methodist Church and a 50 year member of the Rebecca Lodge.
Interment was in the Silent City Cemetery in Monroe.
