In Memory of Elsie Cass Fleener
Elsie was the daughter of Newton Jonathon and Anna Florence Stark Morgart and was born June 13, 1896 at Grinnell. She was married to James Cass on January 11, 1916; and Mr. Cass died in December 1917. Later she was married to Harry C. Fleener on August 28, 1920 in Grinnell. The couple lived at Newburg; Grinnell; Taopi, Minnesota; Deep River; and Macon, Missouri when Harry was killed in an automobile accident.
In 1953 she moved to Des Moines. In 1936 Harry and Elsie made their choice to serve the Lord and were faithful in their choice until death. They left a heritage that could not be bought with money.
Survivors include her children: Norma R. Rice of Saylorville; Delmar L. Fleener of Newton; Gene A. Fleener of Big Bear lake, California; Merrill J. Fleener and D. Eldon Fleener both of San Jose, California; Byron V. Fleener of Altoona; and Loren G. Fleener of Bellevue, Washington; as well as 17 grandchildren; 29 great grandchildren; and a brother Ben E. Morgart of Kerrville, Texas.
Elsie died Tuesday, January 8, 1985 at Luther Park Health Center in Des Moines at the age of 88. She was preceded in death by her parents; her first husband James; her second husband, Harry; two grandchildren; a daughter in law: Hellayne; and a brother and sister: Rolla Morgart and Mable Peterson.
Services: 1:30 p.m. Saturday, January 12, 1985 at Smith Funeral Home in Grinnell, Iowa by Officiant Dan Sherick

Pallbearers: Byron Fleener Jr., John Goodlaxson, Dan Priest, Leonard Bengston, Earl Miller and Raymond Roline
