Services Held Oct. 17 For Joseph Weresh
Joseph J. Weresh, 88, of Crestview Retirement Home, West Des Moines, died of a heart ailment Sunday, Oct. 14, at Hillside Convalescent Center. Services were held at 10 a.m. Wednesday, Oct. 17, at Sacred Heart Catholic church in West Des Moines, with burial in Colfax Cemetery.
Mr. Weresh, a longtime Colfax resident, was born in Lucas and moved to the Des Moines area in 1972 from Colfax. He retired as a district manager for Iowa Power and Light Co., and was a member of the Catholic Church and the Jasper county Fair Association. He was a past grand knight with Knights of Columbus, a former executive secretary at the Iowa State commerce Division, and a past 20-year Red Cross service director.
Surviving are a brother, Andrew of Loveland, Colo., and a sister, Mary Hughes of Las Vegas, Nev.
