Dr. John Lyle Died Oct. 6; Rites Friday
Dr. John M. Lyle, 73, longtime Colfax physician died Monday, October 6 at the Medicenter in Des Moines.
Funeral services will be held Friday at 2 p.m. at the First United Methodist Church in Colfax. The Rev. Jim Pemble will conduct the service. Military graveside rites will be conducted at the Colfax Cemetery.
Masonic services will be held Thursday (tonight) at 8 p.m. at Walters-Coburn Funeral Home in Colfax.
Pallbearers will be members of the Masonic Lodge. Organist, Mrs. Frank B. Evans; soloist will be Joe Gannon.
Survivors are one sister, Mrs. Mildred Brunner of Bell Fountain, Ohio, and three grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents, his wife, Doris, in 1977; one son, George; one brother and one sister.
He was born July 18, 1907 in Springfield, Ohio.
He served in the United States Army and Navy. In 1947 he was united in marriage to Doris Harper. He attended the Chicago Osteopathic College and Still Osteopathic Hospital in Des Moines. He was a member of the First United Methodist Church in Colfax, the Riverside Masonic Lodge and Za-Ga-Zig Shrine.
Memorial contributions may be made to the Heart Fund or the Des Moines College of Osteopathy.
