Last Rites Held For D. F. Lewis Wednesday
Deal F. Lewis, 75, a lifelong resident of Monroe, died at 2 p.m. Monday at the Skiff Memorial Hospital in Newton.
Funeral services were held at 2 p.m. Wednesday at the First Baptist church. Rev. Donald Brong conducted the services. Burial was in the Monroe cemetery.
Mr. Lewis is survived by his wife; two sons, William and Martin; a grandson, Rodger, and three great grandchildren, all of Monroe.
He is also survived by two sisters, Mrs. Daisy Chaplin of Newton and Mrs. Ruth Guthrie of Tujuntjaga, Calif., and two brothers, Bert of Sutton, Calif., and Merton of Lancaster, Calif.
Mr. Lewis was born July 11, 1882, in the Monroe area. He was married to Catherine Livingston in 1904.
