Percy Hurl Dies Sunday Evening
Rites Will Be Held Wednesday at Home of His Sister, Mrs. Peterson
Percy R. Hurl, died last evening at 10:25 o’clock at the home of his sister, Mrs. Louie Peterson at 126 West Tenth street North. Mr. Hurl was born and reared in Jasper county, but for the last 15 years he had made his home in Minneapolis, Minn. where he was employed as yard master for the Great Northern Railroad. At the time of his death he was 43 years of age.
Funeral services will be held Wednesday afternoon at 2 o’clock at the Peterson home and burial will be in the Newton Union cemetery. The rites will be conducted by Dr. Robert Lee Stuart, pastor of the First Methodist Episcopal church.
Mr. Hurl had been in failing health for the last three years but was able to keep on with his work until Jan. 1, 1928, when he was taken to the Glen Lake Sanitarium, Oak Terrace, Minn. On June 23, he was brought to the home of his mother and sister, where he died.
He is survived by his mother, Mrs. Jane Hurl, and two sisters. Mrs. George McLarman of Fredericktown, Oh., and Mrs. Louie Peterson. He is also survived by two nephews, Edward and Percy McLarman and one niece, Alice Peterson.

Hurl Funeral Services Held at Home Yesterday
Funeral services for Percy R. Hurl were held yesterday afternoon at 2 o’clock at the Louie Peterson hone at 126 West Tenth street North and burial was in the Newton Union cemetery. Dr. Robert Lee Stuart, pastor of the First Methodist Episcopal church had charge of the services.
Pallbearers were T. E McKeever, L. R. McKeever, Jesse Boyd, T. J. Campbell, George Campbell and Atwell Spencer. Music was furnished by Mrs. Fred Reeve.
Mr. Hurl died Sunday evening at the home of his sister, Mrs. Louie Peterson, at the age of 43 years.
