Rites Held Friday for George Glover
Services were held Friday for George B. Glover, who passed away July 18 at Collins Memorial hospital in Knoxville. Elder Arthur Nichols conducted the services at Crumpacker Funeral Home in Monroe.
Mrs. J. M. Dockum was soloist, accompanied by Mrs. Letha Gloyd at the piano. Mrs. Clarice Hoagland and Mrs. Roberta Sille were in charge of flowers.
Pallbearers were Jack Currier, Harold Gildersleeve, Hubert Dickman, Burton Zerley, Max Tool and Donald Cash. Interment was in Dunreath cemetery.
Obituary
George Benton Glover, son of Samuel and Pearl Glover, was born May 12, 1913, at Bedford, Ind., and passed from this life July 18, 1961, at Collins hospital in Knoxville, Iowa at the age of 48 years, 2 months and 6 days.
He was united in marriage to Helen Baker in 1938 and to this union were born 5 children.
He entered the army in World War II and received the Asiatic and pacific Ribbon and Bronze Star, the Philippine Liberation Ribbon and Bronze Star and the victory medal of World War II.
After returning home from the war he was married to Emma Holmes.
He leaves to mourn his passing wife Emma of Monroe, 5 children, Lena Marie, James Edward and Lois May, all of Bedford, Ind., Samuel Lester of Dallas, Tex., and Virgel Lee of Missouri, two brothers, Harley his twin of Fort Worth, Ind., and Hubert of Boerne, Tex., one sister, Mary Hutchinson of Bedford, Ind., six grandchildren and a host of relatives and friends.
