Died at his residence, one mile east of Colfax, on Saturday, August 27, 1881, William Gibson, aged almost 83 years.
Deceased was born in Virginia in 1799. His parents moved to Ohio when he was three years old and there he resided until 1856. In that year he removed to Indiana, and subsequently to Clark county, Iowa, where he resided nine years, going thence to Rising Sun, in Polk county; from there to Vandalia, and finally to this neighborhood, of which he has been an esteemed citizen for over fourteen years. His death resulted from heart disease. A very large concourse of people attended his funeral which was conducted by Rev. Jean, from the residence of the deceased. Mr. Gibson was a devout and consistent Christian.
