Stephen Duich dies at Mt. Pleasant
Stephen Duich passed away Sunday, June 22nd, 1924 at the hospital for the insane at Mt. Pleasant, Iowa having been taken to that institution about ten days ago. The cause of his death is given as general paralysis.
He was born in Croatia, March 15th 1878 and at the time of his death was 46 years, 4 months and 7 days old. His wife and six children are left to mourn the loss of their husband and father, besides other relatives.
He and his family have lived in this community about fifteen years where he has worked as a coal miner. His health has been impaired for some time and altho he had never been especially violent since his mind began to fail it was thought safest to place him in the hospital at Mt. Pleasant.
Funeral services were held from the Immaculate Conception church at 9 o’clock Wednesday morning with Rev. E. F. Jackson officiating. He was laid to rest at Highland cemetery.
