Michael Bucklin Dies Sunday; Rites Thursday
Michael Dean Bucklin, 22, of Des Moines, a former resident of the Baxter and Ira communities, died Sunday at Broadlawns Hospital in Des Moines.
Funeral services will be held at 10:30 a.m. Thursday at the Boyd-Nickell Funeral Home in Baxter.
The Rev. T. A. Thompson, pastor of the United Church of Christ (Congregational), will conduct the services. Burial will be in Bethel Cemetery near Baxter.
Survivors are four half-brothers, Bennie Cross,, Eldon Cross, Robert Cross and Allan Cross, all of Baxter; three sisters, Norma Jean Bucklin and Mary Jane Bucklin, both of Marshalltown, and Marsha Lane Bucklin of Baxter; his mother, Mrs. Robert Cross of Baxter; his father, Norman Bucklin of Minnesota; two uncles, Junior Bucklin and Richard Bucklin, both of Ira; a number of nieces and nephews, a great uncle, Ross Beardmore of Ira; and a grandmother, Leona Sutton of Laurel.
He was preceded in death by his grandparents, Mr. and Mrs. Charles Bucklin, his uncle and aunt, Mr. and Mrs. David Potter and his great aunt, Mrs. Ross (Marvel) Beardmore.
The son of Norman and Joyce Sutton Bucklin, he was born Jan. 25, 1950 in Marshalltown and was a 1968 graduate of Tech High School in Des Moines.
Mr. Bucklin was employed in Des Moines at the time of his death.
Pallbearers are: Ronald Bucklin, William Bucklin, Dennis Bucklin, Richard Maggard, Max Bucklin, and Richard Bucklin Jr.
Taking care of the flowers are: Mrs. Carl Bucklin ad Mrs. Marlyn Sutton.
