Nellie Buck Died Sunday, June 18
Miss Nellie Buck, 82, a resident of the Colfax community since 1926, died Sunday at the Skiff Memorial hospital in Newton, where she had been a patient three weeks following a stroke.
The daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Marcus Buck, she was born October 1, 1878 at State Center, Iowa, and was a graduate of the State Center high school. Miss Buck attended the Colfax Methodist Church and was a member of the Order of Eastern Star and the Colfax memorial club for many years.
She is survived by a brother, Harry Buck of Ames; a niece, Mrs. Maurine Price Bond of Colfax, other nieces and nephews and a host of friends made in her long resident in this city.
Funeral services were held Tuesday afternoon at the Methodist church in Colfax at 1:30 p.m. with Rev. Dale J. Nicholson, pastor of the church, officiating. Music was furnished by Mrs. Frank B. Evans, organist.
Services were also conducted at 3:00 o’clock from the Wensel Funeral Home in State Center, Iowa, burial being in the Hillside cemetery at State Center.
Bearers were George, Harold, Howard, James, Lloyd and Marwin Buck.
Flower committee – Mrs. William Crisman, Mrs. Dorothy Shipley and Mrs. Joe Stayner.
