P. Van Der Kamp Longtime Jasper Resident, Dies
SULLY – Paul Van Der Kamp, 77, Sully, longtime resident of Jasper County, died Saturday at Iowa Methodist Hospital in Des Moines.
Services will be at 1 p.m. Tuesday at Pella Garden Chapel.
Ronald Reeves will officiate and burial will be in Sully Cemetery.
Memorial contributions to the American Cancer Society will be accepted.
Surviving are his widow, Gertie, four sons, Cleo of Sully, Milo of Grimes, Floyd of Sully and Vernon of Sacramento, Calif.; three daughters, Mrs. Walter (Irene) Van Der Leest of Sully, Mrs. Laverne (Ruby) Van Zante of Grinnell and Mrs. Harry (Neva) Lanser of Sully; 38 grandchildren and 19 great-grandchildren.
Also surviving are three brothers, Silas, Wilbur and Ernest, and a sister, Harriet Van Der Kamp.
He was preceded in death by an infant daughter and a sister, Stella.
The son of Albert and Catherine Ver Steegh Van Der Kamp, he was born Aug. 20, 1882 in Jasper County.
He was married to Gertie Van Genderen Feb. 20, 1913, in Mahaska County.
